Despite recent press comments suggesting Hector Bellerín’s return to Barcelona is inevitable, Arsenal are adamant that he will not be sold at any price this summer.

Currently on international duty with Spain’s u21 side ahead of this month’s European Championships, it is clear that the La Liga giants are trying to unsettle Bellerín.

As well as this, they are offering Arsenal a plethora of different option to get the proposed move completed, highlighting how desperate they are in their attempts to sign the 22-year-old this summer.

Having signed a contract extension until 2023 last November, Bellerín has been tirelessly questioned by the media about his future and whether he would return to Spain.

Although it’s naive to jump to conclusions given the devious way that some journalists ask questions now, Bellerín seems less adamant about his long-term future at Arsenal now than he did last year.

That’s an observation from the interview published with Spanish newspaper Sport, where he said “you never know what can happen” whilst revealing his family have returned to Barcelona and admitting he was flattered by their interest.

Wenger himself has been assertive when stressing the fact that Bellerín will remain, though this situation is similar to the one which surrounding Cesc Fábregas before his long-awaited return to Spain in 2011.

Whether the talented full-back will leave at some stage in a few years’ time, remains to be seen.

But we all know how this story ends eventually…
