Barcelona’s creative midfielder Arda Turan looks increasingly likely to leave the La Liga giants this summer.

At 30-years-old, it’s important for the playmaker to play on a regular basis and new manager Ernesto Valverde has already reportedly made him available for transfer in the coming months.

However, they are keen to earn as much as possible for Turan, who made 30 appearances across all competitions for Barca this season. Despite this though, he has rarely been given the  opportunity of an extended run of matches, which is hardly surprising given the star-studded talent on hand at the Nou Camp.

Turan has already received interest from outside of Europe, though is keen to remain in one of the top leagues and this has sparked further speculation that he’d join Arsenal or Inter Milan: depending on who pays a higher transfer fee.

Barcelona have reportedly lowered their asking price down to €30m (£26m), as it’s unlikely that either side would be prepared to spend that much for Turan, though it’d be a surprise to see Galatasaray make a formal approach too given their financial constraints. £26m, reportedly, is still too much for Arsenal.

Barca hopes of a swap deal with Hector Bellerín are out of the window, especially given how the Spaniard is an indispensable first-team player and worth more than £26m by himself.

Arsenal have been linked with plenty of other players recently but a deal for Turan, regardless of the price, doesn’t make much sense.

Still the stories continue to appear…
