Arsenal’s star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil reportedly want £350k-per-week to sign new deals.

  • Report claims the two are teaming up to get mega deals
  • Both players have 12 months remaining on their current deals
  • Arsenal can’t afford to lose either player

The Mirror reports that the two have been keeping an eye on each other’s negotiations and are fully aware of the leverage they have over the club.

Both players have the option of running their contracts down and leaving for free next summer. While this would give Arsenal time to scout and find replacements, they will have to spend big on fees and wages to replace them.

On the other hand, Arsenal selling either of them will send a negative message to fans and potential targets. Selling your best players isn’t the best way to convince people that you can challenge for major honours.

Arsenal would be shattering their wage structure further if they signed both players to £350k-per-week contracts, losing the club a combined £36m-a-year, but the Gunners may have to cave to stand a chance of keeping such talented individuals.
