Emil Forsberg’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has claimed RB Leipzig are “destroying the dream” of the coveted winger, with rumours that Arsenal and other suitors are being discouraged to make an approach.

“I and Emil have always accepted the club and the contracts with them. When Emil went there, the ambition was to take the team to the Bundesliga and then the Champions League. He has been involved with them all the way and broke records in their shirt,” Cetinkaya told Aftonbladet.

“Both me and Emil have spoken to the club about his ambition, his future and his dreams. They didn’t buy him for €15m, but for €3m and he signed a new contract and paid them back ten times. They will have to live with the fact that they are destroying his dreams.”

Forsberg, who signed for RB Leipzig for £3m from Malmo in 2015, enjoyed a fantastic season with 22 assists and eight goals in the Bundesliga. He’s been linked with a host of clubs but remains with the Bundesliga side who are refusing a sale this summer.
