16 players fans think ‘need to leave’ Arsenal

Apparently there are 16 players Arsenal fans want out of their club.

The Telegraph ran a vote for Arsenal fans to have their say on who they believe should stay at their club and who should be gotten rid of this summer.

While some, such as the likes of Debuchy and Ospina, apparently definitely ‘need to leave’ vote, there were several more, such as Chambers and the BFG, who Gooners thought were ‘in danger’ and could probably do with leaving.

Mathieu Debuchy

The right-back is apparently still at the club but lord knows where.

He only managed 16 minutes for Arsenal’s first team last season and then disappeared again through injury, all the while making public digs at Wenger for not playing him.

Carl Jenkinson

Everyone wanted Jenks to succeed.

He’s a lifelong Arsenal fan who had his dream come true when he signed.

However, he never was quite good enough and even after two loan spells at West Ham, it looked unlikely that he could ever make the first team.

Unfortunately, his knee injury was the nail in the coffin.

Gibbs has his moments and for the post part is liked by Gooners. However, his injury problems have hampered his progress and most of the time make him useless.

While Wilsh had a decent enough loan spell at Bournemouth and managed to keep fit for most of it, it’s difficult to see him fitting into Arsenal’s current starting XI and the bloke wants to play regularly.

David Ospina

The goalkeeper isn’t good enough and should be leaving Arsenal for Fenerbahce this summer.

Fingers crossed.

Theo Walcott

The forward started the season well but soon found himself dropped to the bench.

Given his age, you’d imagine he’ll be looking elsewhere this summer.

The former Deportivo forward has only had one season in north London and has had that hampered by injuries. Surely he deserves more of a chance?

Francis Coquelin

Coquelin has become a liability, so it’s hardly a surprise that fans want him to leave.

While the striker is a super-sub, he wants more game time and it’s hard to see how he’ll get that next season.

The BFG’s only just come back from injury and was immense in the FA Cup final: give him a chance!

AMN is actually highly rated and was the only youth player to play for Arsenal in the Premier League last season. Okay, it was one minute, but still.

We can’t just be kicking youth goalkeepers out the team without back-ups, come on guys.

Again, what did Willock do wrong?

Gabriel

While I’ve not been Gabriel’s biggest fan in the past, since Arsenal switched to having three at the back he finally found his form. His injury comes at the worst time.

Calum Chambers

Chambers has been on loan at Middlesbrough and although he’s a competent player, I’m not sure he has much of a future at Arsenal.
