10 Arsenal Ladies to look out for next season

With the 2017/18 season on its way, here are 10 players to look out for next season:

Vivianne Miedema

Vivianne Miedema

The Dutch forward is the latest addition to the squad. She is quick and clinical in front of goal. She scored 21 goals in 39 games for FC Bayern and 34 goals in 42 for the Netherlands. A forward with world class potential, she should score goals that could lead Arsenal back to the Champions League.

Kim Little

The Scottish playmaker is a world class attacking midfielder who has everything you need in a number 10. Technical excellence, speed on the ball, vision and she can also finish. Hopefully she will come back from her ACL injury in top form, because the team improves so much when she is on the pitch.

Jordan Nobbs

A formidable box-to-box player. Nobbs has the ability to repeat high intensity runs for 90 minutes and still be able to make the right decision after a high speed 50-yard sprint.

Her technical ability is great, she sees moves before others and can anticipate well. Her leadership is also natural and has been there since her England youth teams days.

Her game and runs complements Kim Little perfectly.

Katie McCabe

The big question is, can she take over and reign on the left wing like Rachel Yankey used to? She has all the attribute to do so, speed, crossing and a sweet left-foot. She needs more game time and to be more efficient in the final third next season. Having her on the pitch, gives natural width to the team to stretch the opposition’s defence.

Chloe Kelly

The 19-year-old forward who will play as a winger will have a very important season. She is currently a fringe player and will need to have a good u19 Euros to show Pedro Losa that she can make a difference and score if she can get on the pitch.

She has a huge potential but with so many forwards available, chances to shine do not come very often for her.

Dominique Janssen

The extremely versatile Dutch defender/midfielder has been one of the most consistent performers since she signed.

Regardless of the position on the pitch she has been played in, she delivers and rarely has a poor game.

Should always be one of the first players on the teamsheet.

Alex Scott & Fara Williams

The two veteran players see their starting 11 places threatened by younger players, will they be able to retain their places or fade away into the background ?

It will be fascinating to see if they can hold on to their place for the whole 2017/18 season.

Taylor Hinds

The 18-year-old left back could take advantage of Emma Mitchell’s long term injury to get a chance during the season. She is the typical modern full back, going up and down the wing with speed and is good on the ball, offering attacking options.

Anna Patten

The 18-year-old saw plenty of minutes during the Spring series and will try to establish herself, long-term in the side.

Can she take over from Alex Scott at right-back or keep her place at centre back once all the injured players come back?

Considering how well she played recently, she needs to carry on getting first team games to speed up her development.

Bethany Mead

2017/18 will be an important season for Beth Mead as she will try to establish herself as the number one choice at centre forward.

With competition from Mediema and Taylor, she will have to be at her best to become the Arsenal Ladies number 9.

She is a quick player in the Micheal Owen mould but needs to improve her strength against physical defenders as she gets out-muscled as seen in the Spring Series.
