While Arsenal’s terrible season hasn’t exactly taught us anything new, it’s proven why certain problems needed to be addressed sooner.
Here’s what we’ve learned from Arsenal’s season.
Arsenal have no plan B

Teams know how to play against Arsenal and this season they demonstrated that. However, whenever this happened, no matter how many times it already had, the Gunners looked lost.
There was no plan B, no escape route, nothing.
We just had to sit and watch as our team were routinely dismantled.
Premier League referees are terrible

Handballs, penalties, no penalties, bizarre red cards, clear bias against Granit Xhaka… we’ve had everything these season.
The quality of Premier League referees appears to be at an all-time low.
Unprepared for annual injury crisis

Despite Arsenal suffering through an injury crisis every year, we never learn. We’re still woefully under-prepared.
Wenger is indeed a magician
Every season Arsenal disappoint but Le Professeur somehow manages to get people back on side with a string of wins.
Arsenal board and Ivan Gazidis have no spine

Instead of getting a new manager lined up months ago, they’ve continued to allow Wenger to carry on without them saying much at all to the press.
The board seems like it doesn’t care or that it’s scared to stand up to the manager.
Building the Emirates held Arsenal back more than the club let on
It’s taken longer than expected to steady the ship after the move from Highbury to the Emirates.
Although most fans already suspected this and assumed that the club had been a little optimistic when it said we could start competing again four years ago, Wenger has now confirmed how hard 2006 – 2014 has been.
You don’t need to spend £50m to get good English players

Rob Holding has been a revelation since getting regular game time during the latter stages of this season.
John Stones who?
Le Professeur will always come through

Despite all odds, Arsenal have won their 13th FA Cup and Wenger’s won his seventh.
What more can I say?
