A top four finish may be out of Arsenal’s hands but it’s not impossible.
- Gunners in fifth after win at Southampton
- Three points below Manchester City in fourth
- Four behind Liverpool in third
If Arsenal manage to win their remaining fixtures and the teams around them in the table drop points, they could still manage to nab one of those coveted top four Champions League spots.
Here’s what they need to do.
If the Gunners can manage to win their three remaining fixtures against Stoke (away), Sunderland (home) and Everton (home), they will finish the season with 75 points.
Liverpool, meanwhile, only have two games left: West Ham (away) and Middlesbrough (home).
If they win both, they can finish with 76 points.
Manchester City have Leicester (home), West Brom (home) and Watford (away) left to face, which means they could end up with 78 points if they win 100% of their games.
Arsenal will need Liverpool to win one out of their two remaining fixtures to have a chance of overtaking them, and will also need City to lose twice given their superior goal difference.
