After an excellent breakthrough season with AS Monaco, Kylian Mbappé has attracted interest from a range of different clubs across Europe and he could be set to leave this summer after all.

The talented 18-year-old forward, who has netted 26 goals and created 14 more in all competitions this season, celebrated with his team-mates as they sealed their first Ligue 1 trophy since 2000 after a 2-0 home win over Saint-Etienne on Wednesday evening.

Mbappé has played a pivotal role in Monaco’s successful season, as they surprised many by reaching the Champions League semi-finals before being defeated by Juventus – and not only competed with Unai Emery’s PSG side, but they overtook them and maintained their nerve to end Les Parisiens’ league dominance, at least for now.

Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with the talented Frenchman’s signature. Naturally though, the club are keen to keep hold of their prized asset and have already reportedly rejected high transfer bids for his services as they look to build their team around him for years to come.

The club’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev was initially keen to maintain the fact that they’ll keep hold of him. As quoted by the Daily Star he said, “We will take stock after the season but it is our intention that he stays. We will do everything we can to keep him. It depends on the club but also the will of the player and I hope he will make the right choice to stay with us.

His current deal expires in two years’ time and it’s likely that the Monaco hierarchy will offer improved terms as effective means to persuade him to remain for the foreseeable future.

I have not had discussions with any club because what the player wants is the priority,” he continued.

Since then, however, he seems to have changed his mind with reports on Monday morning that he will sell if the player really wants to leave.
