Arsenal’s rumoured midfield target, Oghenekaro Etebo, has attracted interest from across Europe, reports suggest but Arsenal have not made any sort of contact.

  • Etebo is out of contract next summer
  • His reps have confirmed interest from Turkey and Germany but not England
  • CD Feirense have not yet offered him a new contract

The 21-year-old midfielder, currently playing his football in Portugal with CD Feirense, will have twelve months left to run on his current contract in the summer but is yet to agree an extension.

Etebo’s representatives have reportedly been in talks with Turkish and German sides, with Fenerbahce among the possible suitors for the Nigerian. No offer has been confirmed for him yet, though it is believed that the two clubs are in negotiations over striking a deal with a fair transfer fee.

Fenerbahce representatives were said to have met Etebo and held a meeting in London, though his own entourage had revealed interest in his services were high.

So many teams are interested, but no offer has been made yet,” they were quoted as saying by allnigeriasoccer.com.

“His contract with CD Feirense will end next June and he has not been offered a new one. I have been contacted by agents representing Turkish and German clubs.

“Fenerbahce is not one of the clubs involved and we have not been officially approached by any team from England.

Crucially though, they denied any formal contact with Fenerbahce, so it’ll be intriguing to see what happens next. Arsenal are not the only Premier League side interested in his progress either. Manchester United, West Brom and Leicester City have all monitored his development, according to the source.
