Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are being offered huge new deals to stay at the club but aren’t keen on signing based on the most recent report.

According to the Independent, contract negotiations were put on hold until the final game of the season and the decision on the future of Arsene Wenger. Mesut Ozil refused to make any decisions regarding his new contract until the same was resolved with the manager.

Unfortunately, even after the decision regarding Wenger and his stay at the club for another two years, The Times reported that both players still don’t have any desire to extend their stay at the Emirates.

Alexis Sanchez and his agent have already held talks with Bayern Munich, and the Chilean has plenty of other offers on the table. The German international, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have many suitors and is planning to stay until the end of his contract next summer so he could leave for free in 2018.

Arsene Wenger will be disappointed in their decisions, especially after the club spent around £80m to bring the former La Liga duo to London. His comments on Nasri’s past transfer from Arsenal to Manchester City perfectly sum up his thoughts.

“Football rules are made like that, that the player can be worth a lot of money today and nothing in six months so it doesn’t look completely logical, but we are forced into a decision like that for psychological and financial reasons.

“I am a realist so I have no illusions. It’s part of the modern life of a professional football player. Keeping a player with one year left is difficult for a number of reasons.”
