Olivier Giroud’s latest stats have labeled him as the most effective Premier League super-sub this season amid talk that he could leave in the summer.
- Giroud’s scored 16 and assisted six (all comps) this season
- Striker has contributed eight goals from coming off the bench
- Is considering summer move if reinforcements are brought in
Absolutely no one will be shocked to find out that, statistically, Giroud is the best super-sub in the league. In fact, the 30-year-old has been brought on by Arsene Wenger 18 times this season to help dig Arsenal out of a hole.
The big guy has been involved in eight goals (scored six, two assists) after being brought on as a substitute.
In total, Giroud’s contributed 16 goals and six assists over all competitions, which works out as every 76.5 minutes.
However, we’ve got a problem. The striker no longer wants to be a super-sub, he wants to be the main guy or at least the chance to have a go regularly.
Unfortunately, this means that despite only just signing a contract extension in January, the France international could be looking to leave this summer, especially if Arsenal bring in another forward.
