Mesut Ozil’s latest comments about living in London and playing for Arsenal seem to strongly hint at a new contract.

Ozil has spoken countless times about his love of London and Arsenal. He adores the multi-culturalism, variety of things to do, and the people.

With the playmaker set to enter into the final year of his current contact, the rumour mill has been spinning out of control with some reports claiming he’s set to sign a £250kpw deal, while others (from the same outlet) suggest he’s demanding £300kpw.

However, during his recent EXCLUSIVE interview with Chris Wheatley for Goal, the German once again gushed about his the city he now calls home, as well as the club he adores.

“I simply love to live here. London is a world city. There is so much you can do,” the 28-year-old said.

“There are many different cultures here and I just feel very, very comfortable. The club is huge and I enjoy playing for Arsenal. Living in London is awesome.”

I’ve always said that I do think Ozil will stay. His love for not just London and Arsenal but the fans as well seems very genuine.

Of course, I could be biased, he’s my favourite player, or perhaps I’m naive because I want to believe that he really loves the club I support, but I would be completely gutted and pretty surprised if he was refuse to sign a new deal.

He’s taken a chance on Arsenal once, what’s one more time?
