Mesut Ozil is apparently demanding £350k-per-week from Turkish side Besiktas after holding a ‘secret meeting’ over a summer move.

  • Ozil’s family are Turkish but playmaker was born in Germany
  • Player is Fenerbahce fan, wants to wear the shirt one day
  • Reportedly demanding £350kpw from Besiktas – Fenerbahce’s rivals

Ozil has just one year left on his current deal at Arsenal and while he appears more likely to stay than Alexis Sanchez, who’s in the same position, it’s far from set in stone.

While Arsenal are predicted to offer the German a considerable pay rise, this will be nothing compared to the eye-watering amount the playmaker reportedly asked for from Besiktas during a secret meeting with club official Umut Guner.

Apparently, Ozil will sign for the Turkish side but only if they hand him £350k-per-week.

Of course, you don’t need us to tell you that this is nonsense.

The story comes from the same Turkish outlet that reported on Ozil’s ‘secret meeting’ with Fenerbahce last October: Hurriyet.

Considering that Ozil’s actually a Fenerbahce fan, THAT was more likely.

“In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan,” the 28-year-old apparently told Sabah back in July 2015.
