When James Rodriguez was leaving the pitch on Sunday, it certainly looked like that was his last game for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu and it seems like he’s off to Manchester United despite links with Arsenal.

The 25-year-old Colombian has endured a disappointing season with Real Madrid and it’s obvious he doesn’t fit in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for the future.

Reports suggest that Rodriguez is very close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United and that it is very likely that the Colombian will in fact go to Old Trafford.

Colombian radio station RCN reported an agreement in principle between Rodriguez and Manchester United, but with the clubs yet to discuss the terms of the transfer.

Mundo Deportivo also state their belief that Rodriguez’s gestures when he was leaving the pitch indicate that this was his last farewell to the Bernabeu crowd before joining the Red Devils.

However, if Real Madrid win La Liga and/or Champions League, James would get another chance to show himself to the fans for the last time, but it certainly wouldn’t be as personal as it was on Sunday, with fans giving him a standing ovation.

James Rodriguez was also linked with a move to Arsenal, but in recent weeks it became obvious that neither the player nor the club have enough interest in making a deal.

Previously, it was reported that James would not move to Arsenal because his brother-in-law, David Ospina, was set to leave but the truth is he’s most likely attracted to the idea of working with Jose Mourinho, a manager he has missed out on working with twice – once at Porto and then again at Real Madrid.
