Henry reckons that Mourinho’s choice to prioritise the Europa League is the right one and that the former Chelsea boss will have the last laugh over Arsene Wenger at the end of the season.
Manchester United will probably win the European trophy and therefore earn qualification to the Champions League next term. Whereas Arsenal have little chance of finishing in the top four and earning Champions League qualification themselves despite their 2-0 win over their rivals on Sunday afternoon.
United beat La Liga team, Celta Vigo, 1-0 away on Thursday night in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie, putting the Red Devils in prime position to progress to the final. Therefore, their loss to Arsenal means little to them in the grand scheme of things.
“That’s what (Jose’s) waiting for,” Henry told Sky Sports.
“To say at the end of the day we are going to be in the Champions League.
“‘I knew we were going to win it and have two trophies.
“So you find yourself in the situation where he’s going to have the last laugh at the end of the day.
“I’m sure he’s waiting to tell us he was right!”
And Henry wonders why Arsenal didn’t want him coaching at the club anymore?
