Isaac Hayden has revealed his eagerness to prove he’s good enough for success at Premier League level next season, after promotion with Newcastle this term.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who left Arsenal for a reported £2.5m last summer, has now sealed consecutive Championship promotions after a successful loan spell at Hull during the 2015/16 campaign.

As quoted by an article on Chronicle Live he said, “Last summer I went back to Arsenal and I knew I wasn’t going to be staying there, so it was a bit of a frustrating summer after promotion last season with Hull.

It seemed inevitable that Hayden would move on a permanent basis in search of regular first-team football, despite impressing for the Gunners in various age-groups at youth level.

I was very frustrated with my time at Arsenal, I felt I deserved more of a chance and I got an injury at a key time. You need to take advantage of small windows. I have a point to prove to myself, I know I am capable of playing Premier League football and hopefully that will be next season.

It’s always a frustrating time for talented youngsters who are not given a first-team opportunity. This happens regularly at bigger clubs and it’s refreshing to see that Hayden hasn’t let setbacks stagnate his career progression.

We wish Isaac the best in the Premier League and can’t wait to see what he can do.
