According to the Daily Star, Arsenal look set to miss out on coveted Torino striker Andrea Belotti, with reports suggesting Atletico Madrid are lining up an £85m bid for his signature.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season in Serie A, scoring 25 goals in 33 league appearances, leading to a number of suitors in Europe. However, the Torino chairman Urbano Cairo has made it clear their star striker won’t be leaving than less than his £85M release clause and is believed to have already rejected a bid from Atletico.

Torino finished ninth in the division, closer to the relegation zone than a Champions League place, and Belotti has contributed to 46% of their league goals this season. It’s unlikely he will be at Torino this time next season given the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Italian international.

Belotti, contracted at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino until 2021, has scored 39 goals in 72 games for Il Toro. He joined the club from Palermo in 2015. His form at Torino has led to him representing his country, netting three goals in seven caps, and his future looks bright in Europe. He’ll want to test himself at the highest level which could see movement this summer, but Torino are holding out for as long as possible.
