Arsenal have been forced to put tickets for their clash against Sunderland on general sale.

  • Gunners will finish below Spurs for first time since 1995
  • Attendance dwindling due to terrible season
  • Arsenal v Sunderland kicks off on Tuesday 16 May at 7:45pm

The Gunners’ terrible season, which could see them finish in sixth in the Premier League and miss out on Champions League football, has resulted in huge amounts of fans turning down the chance to go and support their team at the Emirates.

The number of bums on seats has been dwindling for a while, despite the announcer consistently claiming they’re at full capacity, but the match against the Black Cats on Tuesday 16 May could be the quietest yet.

Arsenal last had to put tickets on general sale last season against West Brom.

It’s rare that so many season ticket holders and supporters with memberships forgo the opportunity to attend that the club is forced to allow just about anyone to show up.

While the game does take place on a week night against a relegated team, they should still expect to sell tickets.

It seems that Arsenal fans are voting with their feet.
