Arsenal appear to be struggling to get Shkodran Mustafi fit in time for the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday.
- Mustafi hasn’t returned to training after being ruled out of Everton clash with concussion
- Set to face late fitness test ahead of final against Chelsea
- Kos and Gabriel also both unavailable
Mustafi missed out on Arsenal’s final Premier League game of the season against Everton on Sunday after suffering from what was initially reported as ‘illness’ but has now emerged as concussion.
The German centre-back missed training on Friday, which suggests that he won’t be included in the squad to face Chelsea on Saturday evening, since FA guidelines state that he would have had to have started light training by Tuesday to be allowed to play.
However, Arsenal journalist, Mattias Karen, claims that the 25-year-old is going to face a fitness test with Arsene Wenger set to make a late decision.
With Laurent Koscielny out through suspension, Gabriel sidelined for six to eight weeks with a knee injury, and Per Mertesacker having only played 37 minutes this season, a lot of pressure falls on 21-year-old Rob Holding’s shoulders going into this massive game.
No wonder Wenger could risk Mustafi.
