Arsenal and Everton are rumoured to be fighting for the signature of former Chelsea man Thorgan Hazard this summer.

According to the Daily Star, the two Premier League clubs have been outbidding one another for the Bundersliga star who scored and created 10 goals in 18 league starts for Borussia Monchengladbach this season.

Jeunes Footeux claim to have insider information about the possible transfer, suggesting Arsenal and Everton will have to pay €18million for the forward. However, Bild have reported the price for Hazard will be twice that valuation.

Hazard is contracted at the Borussia-Park until 2019 and is believed to be keen on a return to the Premier League provided he’s guaranteed first-team opportunities.

The 24-year-old scored 11 goals and made seven assists and his impressive season in Germany has led to increased interest in his services. After a lack of games at Chelsea, he joined Borussia Monchengladbach for just €8million in 2015 and will be now worth more than four times that fee.

Given the Bundesliga club finished outside of the European places in 2016/17, Arsenal and Everton – two clubs both set to be in the Europa League next season – might be an attractive proposition for Hazard.
