Alexis Sanchez’s agent is purported to have met up with Bayern Munich to hash out a potential deal this summer, but there was believed to be a breakdown in negotiations which leave the transfer on rocky ground.

According to the Metro, Bayern Munich plan to sign the Chilean international but after a recent turn of events, a transfer looks unlikely.

Bayern Munich are refusing to agree with the players demands over the proposed wage. The figure is believed to be just around £17million-a-year, and it is way over the intended offer that Bayern’s representatives have prepared.

The Bundesliga giants are believed to have prepared around £13.7 million-a-year, a sum which isn’t very appealing to Alexis and his agent as they believe that he’s worth much more given his impressive goal-laden stints in the Premier League and La Liga.

Alexis Sanchez is being linked with Chelsea and Manchester City, and the news of the Germans slowly backing out of the deal won’t bring joy just to the Arsenal fans as a result.

It’s perhaps good news Alexis Sanchez isn’t rushing to leave the Emirates for any price, and now the challenge is on for Arsene Wenger to do everything in his power to keep his best player around.
