The stories of Virgil Van Dijk leaving Southampton just keep popping up as the defender is once again linked with a Chelsea move.

In the most recent reports coming from The Guardian’s journalist Dominic Fifield, Virgil Van Dijk is ‘all but certain’ to join Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea throughout last few weeks, with numerous ‘insiders’ reporting that he will ‘certainly’ join all of those clubs.

Pep Guardiola apparently wants to freshen up his defence with the 25-year-old withKompany struggling due to his injuries and age.

Liverpool and Everton also want him to join in order to boost their team’s performances, and Arsenal were reported to be willing to break their wage structure just to sign the Dutchman.

There were even some reports coming from Liverpool that the player already discussed a long term vision of the club with Jurgen Klopp.

However, the most recent news comes from title winners, Chelsea, as the champions are now believed to be firm favorites to sign Van Dijk. This week at least.

If the supposed transfer does go through, Southampton are believed to be targeting Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho to replace the Dutchman.

Virgil Van Dijk seems sure to leave Southampton at the end of the season, the only two remaining questions are: Where? And how many more times will the reporters link him to a different club?
