Alexis Sanchez played an amazing 4,854 minutes of football since last July.

  • Alexis ranks 13th in list of most used played since 1/7/2016
  • Only Wilfried N’Didi and Paul Pogba played more from the Premier League
  • Laurent Koscielny managed 4,625 minutes

The CIES Football Observatory complied a list of the most-played players from Europe’s top five leagues.

The list shows the number of matches and minutes played by some of Europe’s finest players.

Unsurprisingly, Alexis Sanchez played more minutes than anyone else for Arsenal. His 4,854 minutes across 58 matches highlights his importance and durability. To play so much without picking up a major injury is a testament to his conditioning.

Somewhat surprisingly, Laurent Koscielny sits 24th on the list. Despite suspensions and problems with recurring injuries, the Frenchman managed to play 4,625 minutes across 54 matches.

The only other Arsenal player in the top 100 is Mesut Ozil, who played 4,237 minutes across 51 matches.

The list is dominated by the top players all around Europe, perhaps showing that Arsene Wenger’s reluctance to rest his key players isn’t mad as some believe.
