Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has enjoyed a fantastic season in terms of his productivity, scoring and creating 42 goals in 54 appearances, and he believes his creative attributes are vital for the likes of Mesut Ozil to score more goals.

“I think it’s vital for Arsenal that I pick the ball up and provide assists to (Mesut) Ozil. I think nowadays midfielders need to have the mentality of getting in to the box and scoring goals. We all have that ability to get in the area and that ambition to score goals,” he said on Arsenal’s official website.

Sanchez has notched an impressive 13 assists in all competitions, five of which have accounted for Mesut Ozil’s eight goals this season.

The Chilean international produced a fantastic assist for Ozil recently, producing a defence-splitting slide-rule pass to find the German playmaker who brilliantly chipped over goalkeeper Jack Butland to score in a 4-1 win away to Stoke City on May 13.

Sanchez and Ozil have a great relationship on the pitch, always looking for one another when Arsenal are in possession, and being of a higher calibre to their teammates.

Sanchez and Ozil have scored and created ten goals in their last eight appearances for Arsenal, at a time where the club have picked up seven wins.
