Another day, another rumour about Alexis Sánchez’s future.

This time, it’s the Daily Star and they said that the Chilean has already held talks with Pep Guardiola over a possible summer switch – as he feels it’s his best opportunity to win silverware in England. This, despite reports claiming he already ‘agreed’ a move to Bayern Munich just days earlier.

The 28-year-old has netted 21 goals and created eleven more in the Premier League this season alone, but Arsenal need to win both remaining fixtures and hope results swing in their favour to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.

City currently occupy fourth place with the same amount of matches left, but neither they or Liverpool can afford to slip up as they attempt to secure spots among Europe’s elite once more next term.

Alexis has publicly stated his desire to avoid speculation about the future until after the current campaign is over, but this report has described negotiations over a contract extension as an “ugly dispute” and suggest he’s angling for a move away from north London sooner rather than later.

Don Balon in Spain support the suggestion that Pep is interested in strengthening his squad and what better way than to sign a former player, who he bought from Udinese at Barcelona in 2011.

Guardiola has reportedly given Sánchez a phone call to try and persuade him, but nothing has been confirmed yet and that suggestion seems far-fetched to say the least.
