There are reportedly four clubs waiting in the wings to ride in on their white horses and rescue Lucas Perez from his horrific experience at Arsenal.
- Arsenal signed La Liga forward for £17m last summer
- He’s scored seven goals in 21 appearances this season
- Has spent 18 games (and counting) sidelined through injury
- Lucas admits he’s unhappy with lack of playing time
Lucas only signed for Arsenal from Deportivo last summer and is already being linked with a move back to his former club.
The Spaniard, who wants have a chance of getting noticed for the World Cup next year, is unhappy with his lack of playing time after feeling as if he’s proven he can produce goals when called upon.
“This season has been difficult because I think I’ve deserved to play more. I may not have done as well as others, but if they’d have given me more minutes I’d have produced better numbers: more goals and more assists,” said Lucas recently.
“I’ve spoken to the coach and he admits as much, but he has own ideas and I respect that. I’d like more opportunities because I think I deserve them, but I’ll have to accept what comes my way.”
Lucas therefore allegedly wants a move, despite the reason for him not playing is mainly down to the fact that he’s spent 92 days (and counting) sidelined through injury.
The forward’s former club aren’t the only ones supposedly interested in rescuing the 28-year-old.
According to reports, Espanyol, Betis and Sevilla are all keen.
