Jack Wilshere left White Hart Lane on crutches and wearing a protective boot after he was injured during Bournemouth’s defeat.

  • Wilshere was substituted just before the hour mark
  • He was spotted getting into a black Mercedes wearing a protective boot on his left foot
  • Wilshere was already wearing strapping on that ankle

Wilshere was injured when trying to block a shot and the Spurs fans, showing their class, sang ‘It’s happened again, it’s happened again, Jack Wilshere, it’s happened again’. It’s a song they know well having heard it far more times than Jack.

In one of the photos of Wilshere you can see that he already had strapping on his left ankle – a body part that has caused him constant problems throughout his career.

Wilshere nor Bournemouth have offered any update at the time of writing. It is unlikely they will have it for a few days anyway, as they wait for any swelling to go down before they do a scan.

The midfielder will be hopeful that it is not serious as he enters a summer that could decide his future. Arsene Wenger will want to see proof that he can be relied upon to stay injury-free to be guaranteed a place in Arsenal’s midfield. He doesn’t have that to offer yet.
