According to BIHscout, Sead Kolasinac has become Arsenal player although his father has said nothing has been decided and it’s between Arsenal and AC Milan.
But what would Arsenal be getting if they did sign Kolasinac? [Read a Bosnian’s view here]
Who is Sead Kolasinac?
He was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, but his parents are Bosnian, and he plays for the Bosnian national team even though he went through all the younger selections of Germany.
From 2001 to 2012 he passed through the youth setups of Karlsruhe, Hoffenheim, VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 where he made his first senior steps for reserve team that competes in lower regional league. After only eight appearances for reserves he got promoted to first team squad.

Strengths
The most obvious of all is his physical strength.
Kolasinac has 1.83m in height and 85kg. He’s one of the toughest full backs and has no problem battling with any player.
Even though he appears a bit stocky, he possesses great speed and is capable of making up for any errors. On average he makes 0.70 successful take ons, and wins 2.1 tackles per game with 56.5% aerial duels won.
He has a good understanding and reading of the game, making 3.3 interceptions on average per game. His ability to steal the ball and make forward runs often exposes his opponents. With the ball in his feet he often produces great runs playing one-twos down the wing. His ability to make forward runs made it possible for him to find the back of the net three times this season.
With the ball in his possession, he is more than capable of picking a probing pass to one of his teammates, on average he is creating 1.05 chances and 0.85 key passes per game. This season he assisted his colleagues on the pitch seven times.
Capable of playing in a few positions on the left flank, Kolasinac can also play as centre-back if necessary, as he has enough discipline and awareness to stick to his position.
Next – Weaknesses
Weakness
Even though he has great strength and pace, he often dives into tackles, and it could take him some time to get used to Premier League. So far he has committed 34 fouls in Bundesliga, 1.7 per match and collected 4 yellow cards in the process.
Another weakness of his is crossing as the Bosnian has some serious trouble when sending a high ball across the pitch. Unlike his ground passes that are often spot on, his crosses need some serious work.
His dribbling ability is also one that leaves much to be desired. He likes to play short passes to get out of a situation, but when he doesn’t have the option of picking out a teammate, he lacks the ability to dribble his way out, or pass his opponent on something other than sheer strength and speed.

His prospects at Arsenal
At 23 years of age, Kolasinac is still young enough to make significant progress as a player, and playing on one of the biggest stages in the world can surely bring the best of him.
Even though he won’t have as much freedom on the left flank as he had at Schalke 04, Kolasinac would surely make an impact as Arsenal haven’t really been convincing in the defensive department.
It would be a great bit of business to land him on a free if they are able to do so, more so with the list of clubs that were also interested in his services containing the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The young Bosnian has all the right qualities to become Arsenal’s first choice left-back and one of the best full-backs in the League.
