Arsene Wenger has reportedly been swanning around telling people behind the scenes that he’s staying at Arsenal and wants to sign a new two-year deal.
- Arsene Wenger keen to stay despite fan unrest
- Arsenal lost 4 consecutive away games for first time under Wenger
- Wenger reportedly set to be handed £200m warchest
- Board said to be stalling on new deal
Since the 3-1 defeat to Tony Pulis’ West Brom side, Wenger has been rumoured to be extending his time in north London. However, following Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace, the tide’s appeared to turn and reports have emerged that chiefs are stalling over his new deal.
According to the Mirror, however, this isn’t the case and Wenger is edging closer and closer to signing another contact, which could throw a serious cat among the pigeons.
Despite all this talk over a £200m warchest and summer overhaul, most Arsenal fans remain unconvinced that Wenger is the right person to lead the club to victory. The Gunners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League and set to miss out on Champions League qualification next season.
What’s more, is that it looks almost certain that they will finish below Spurs for the first time under the Frenchman.
