Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has spoken to Sky Sports about his opinion on who is this year’s manager of the season, and there won’t be many surprised by his choice.

The famous Arsenal all-time leading goalscorer chose Antonio Conte, as the Italian took everyone by surprise from the start of the season with Chelsea’s strong performances.

The Blues are currently sitting comfortably on top of table following their 3-1 win against Bournemouth, they are still in FA Cup where they will take on Tottenham in hope of reaching the final at Wembley.

“As a coach, Conte has done exactly what you’re supposed to do,” Henry said.

“He arrived at Chelsea, assessed the situation and didn’t do what he wanted right from the start.

“He did what a good coach should do, in that, when it’s not working he changes it.

“And it worked because his system has helped every single player to do better.”

It’s worth noting that Thierry Henry isn’t the first one to pick Antonio Conte as the best performing manager. Jamie Carragher also hailed Italian while talking to Sky Sports.

“What an outstanding job he’s done for his first year in the Premier League,” Carragher said.

“It’s been a masterclass in managerial expertise this season.”

While keeping in mind how Chelsea played last season under Jose Mourinho, and how they are playing now, there are obvious improvements to the style of play and tactical approach but also mentally.

Chelsea are team that can handle pressure and don’t break easily, with this season coming to an end, it’s up to their rivals to start planing for next season’s tittle challenge as Conte and his side continue to impress.

The only question really is, will Arsenal even be a rival next season?
