While many had hoped that Woj, who is statistically the best performing keeper in Europe right now, would return to Arsenal, it appears that the 27-year-old understandably isn’t willing to return to north London if it means sitting on the bench behind Petr Cech.
While on loan at Roma where he’s been no.1, Woj has apparently caught Napoli’s eye, and while Roma aren’t willing the pay his £10m asking price, their Serie A rivals are.
The Poland international’s Arsenal deal expires at the end of next season and, for obvious reasons, he and his team want to sort out his future soon. Therefore, according to Radio Kis Kiss [via Calciomercato], they’re reportedly set to meet for talks with the club on 5 May.
Woj has developed from a shot-stopped with potential to a true pair of safe hands while at Roma and Arsenal will have some persuading to do, as well as assurances to give, if they want him to stay.
