Sol Campbell might be one of about six people on this planet who think that Arsenal have a chance of beating Spurs at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
- Spurs set to finish above Arsenal for 1st time since 1995
- Campbell played for Spurs and Arsenal
- Reckons Gunners could ‘easily’ beat Tottenham
- Spurs v Arsenal kicks off at 4:30pm on Sunday 30 April
Spurs, annoyingly, have been well-organised and powerful this season.
They’re currently only four points off Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table and are set to finish above Arsenal for the first time since 1995, as well as secure Champions League football for next season.
Although they lost 4-2 against Chelsea during their FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and then only narrowly beat Crystal Palace midweek, for once, it looks like they’re clear favourites going into the second North London Derby of the season.
However, ex-Arsenal (and Spurs) defender, Campbell, reckons that the Gunners could actually pull it out the bag.
“I was looking at the performance of Tottenham going into the game and they’ve had a tremendous season, back to front. Arsenal have been a bit patchy,” Campbell told the Metro.
“But four goals against you against Chelsea [in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final], I think there’s going to be a little bit of a seed planted there. It’s not going to take away from the whole game, but if you let four goals in there is that little element of ‘oh, we let four goals in’. You can’t just wash it away and move on to the next game.
“I think vice-versa with Arsenal, scoring against Man City and getting through that game I think that will counteract that. I think Arsenal could easily come out on top and surprise Tottenham. Quite easily.”
I like your way of thinking, Sol.
I don’t agree at all but I like it all the same.
