RMC last night reported that both PSG and Chelsea have opened talks over signing Alexis Sanchez – but with his people, NOT Arsenal.
- PSG have met with Sanchez’s agent ‘several times’
- Another meeting is scheduled for mid-April
- Chelsea have also been speaking with his ‘entourage’
With just one year left on his contract, the Chilean recently said that he wanted to see that year out with Arsenal. Arsene Wenger wants to keep him, but the club will be aware the damage losing him on a free, especially to a club like Chelsea, would do to already-strained relations with fans.
With that being the case, Arsenal need to ship him out this summer if they can’t be sure he will sign a new deal with the club.
For the longest time, Juventus seemed to be the frontrunners for his signature but in recent weeks things on that front have gone quiet. Chelsea took their place as favourites, helped immeasurably by Alexis’s comments that he would like to stay in London.
PSG’s name is now also in the mix, a much more palatable option for Arsenal fans than seeing their goalscoring star lineup in Chelsea’s blue.
According to RMC, Alexis’ agent has met with PSG ‘several times’ and another meeting is scheduled for later this month. Chelsea have been in talks with the player’s entourage with Antonio Conte a massive admirer of the forward.
