Mesut Ozil doesn’t care that Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Wednesday night was ‘lucky’, he’s just glad to win.
- Nacho Monreal’s shot deflected off Robert Huth on the 86th minute
- Arsenal had 12 shots to Leicester’s 7
- Ozil relieved to get 3 points
Ozil’s feelings towards Arsenal’s deflected goal against the Foxes mirrored most Gooners’; the goal might have been lucky but the team need all the points they can get if they’re going to have any hope of finishing in the top four this season.

The win has boosted Arsenal above Everton into sixth place with two games in hand. They’re now level on games played with Manchester United (fifth) and City (fourth), and just four points outside the top four.
However, with Spurs to face on Sunday and United set to travel to the Emirates, it won’t be easy by any means and Arsenal will have to hope teams above them drop points.
This is why Ozil, as well as most Arsenal fans, don’t give a hoot whether the Gunners’ goal against Leicester was lucky or not.
