While Liverpool are apparently ‘favourites’ to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, recent comments from the player and Arsene Wenger indicate that the midfielder will actually be signing a new deal with Arsenal.

  • Ox’s contract runs out in 2018
  • Liverpool willing to pay £35m and are favourites to sign him
  • Player sees future at Arsenal
  • Wenger wants to keep Ox at all costs

Oxlade-Chamberlain recently spoke about his plans for the future, which include playing for the Gunners, and Wenger insists that Arsenal are going to do everything they can to keep hold of the 23-year-old when talks resume in the summer.

The Frenchman seems to strongly believe that the Ox is the future of Arsenal and wants to ensure he doesn’t go anywhere.

With this in mind, the Gunners are reportedly set to offer the Ox over £100kpw in wages, which is double what he’s being paid right now.

Despite this and the fact that Arsenal are allegedly asking for £35m, Liverpool are still the bookies’ favourites to sign the England international at 9/2.
