Alex Iwobi hoped his energy would help Arsenal seal all three points against Manchester City.

  • Nigerian has 24 Premier League appearances this season
  • He has scored 4 and assisted 7 in all competitions
  • Says Arsenal team still believe they can finish in top four

Brought on from the bench in the second half, Iwobi managed 12 touches in 14 minutes and watched one great effort sail over the bar.

To be fair, it was a big ask of the youngster to change the game. His firm has been in the toilet for a while now and it was unlikely he was going to make a dramatic change to the Arsenal team.

“We’ll take the result but we could have nicked it at the end,” Iwobi told Arsenal.com.

“I had a good chance to score but unfortunately we’ll have to settle for a point.

Iwobi still feels that top four is possible for Arsenal, despite being seven points behind City in fourth, albeit with a game in hand.

“Of course we still have that belief. We believe that we can win every game and that’s the goal, so we’ll take it step by step to see where we end up at the end of the season.”

Arsenal have won one of their last six in the league.
