Amid claims that Lorenzo Insigne is demanding more money and incentives from Napoli, it appears that Bayern Munich’s interest in the winger has grown more serious.

  • Insigne has scored 14 Serie A goals this season and assisted 7
  • The 25-year-old wants €4.5m a year but image rights holding up an agreement
  • Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter and AC Milan all linked

While Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with the 25-year-old, Bayern boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is reportedly lining Insigne up to replace Douglas Costa. Costa’s contract with the Bundesliga giants runs out in 2020.

Arsenal, of course, were linked heavily with him last summer but the player appears to want to remain at his boyhood club.

Napoli want to tie him down for longer and after the 25-year-old was again linked with Arsenal in February, the media claimed that they’d almost reached an agreement for a contract worth £2.62m a year, excluding bonuses and add-ons, which would take him up until 2022.

He allegedly wants €4.5m a year which is around £3.82m.

Although Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, has apparently been a long-time admirer of Insigne and is currently favourite to land him, Bayern can never be ruled out.

Insigne last signed a contract in 2014 and it expires in 2019. Arsenal are most likely in there as an ‘incentive’ rather than as a serious buyer.
