Most of us have probably never heard of Christophe Lollichon, but he could well be one of the key additions for Arsenal during this summer.

  • Lollichon was linked with Arsenal when Petr Cech first signed
  • The pair worked well together at Chelsea
  • He would work with Gerry Payton instead of replacing him

As rumour would have it, Arsene Wenger could well be on his way to serving his last seasons as manager of Arsenal, and the Frenchman is determined to lay strong foundations for the future.

The club has started searching for a director of football to assist Wenger and that is just the beginning of a planned summer overhaul of the background team. Allegedly.

Goalkeeping coach, Christophe Lollichon, joined Chelsea 2004 but apparently fell out with Antonio Conte and is looking for a new challenge in his career. He reportedly stepped down from his role at Chelsea during the summer, and is not listed on the official site. This is despite some tabloids stating he is still at Chelsea.

With Petr Cech keen on reuniting with his former coach, with whom has worked during his entire time in Chelsea, Lollichon is being heavily linked with Arsenal. If he were to join, he’d work alongside current coach Garry Peyton according to the Daily Mirror. It’s hard to think of another area that has consistently disappointed in the last decade like that of Arsenal goalkeeper recently. Replacing Peyton should be the goal, nothing else.

Lollichon worked with the rugby team specifically to teach them how to track the ball and how to behave when receiving high drop-out kicks from a restart.[/otw_shortcode_info_box]
