Arsenal’s official website has confirmed that Santi Cazorla will return next season.

  • Cazorla has made 180 appearances for Arsenal
  • Midfielder featured 11 times this season before his injury
  • Cazorla scored 2 and assisted 3 this season

In a piece about Arsene Wenger’s appreciation for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Arsenal.com, author Chris Harris confirms that Cazorla will return next season.

This backs up the news that the Spaniard has already signed a new contract with Arsenal and he did so back in December. The club, however, is yet to officially announce this for some reason, despite the majority of Gooners loving the little midfielder.

Cazorla is currently sidelined for the rest of the season after a couple of surgeries on his troublesome ankle. Perhaps this is why Arsenal are reluctant to announce his extension.

Speaking ahead of the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Manchester City on 2 April, Wenger confirmed that the 32-year-old’s season is indeed over after speculation that we wouldn’t see him against this side of May, simply admitting, “The season is over for him.”

Hopefully Cazorla can now just concentrate on recovering without the pressure of an impending return.
