Karren Brady believes player power is so strong these days that Arsene Wenger will not be able to stop Alexis Sanchez leaving this summer if he really wants to go.

Wenger has repeatedly said that he will hold Alexis to his contract and that even if the Chilean does not sign a new deal, he will still be at Arsenal next season. Knowing this means risking losing Alexis on a free transfer next summer, Wenger says that he’s optimistic that Alexis wants to sign a new deal with the club.

But writing in her S*n column, Brady, West Ham’s vice chairman, Baronness Karren Brady, said, “Stick or twist? That’s the Arsenal dilemma over Alexis Sanchez.

“The Chilean forward is demanding weekly gushers of money to stay.

“Manager Arsene Wenger says, if the worst came to the worst, he’d stick with Sanchez until his contract runs out next summer.

“But what of the likely £50million Arsenal will sacrifice by not selling fairly soon. That isn’t Kroenke mathematics.

“If the player is determined to go, then in my experience he will.”

While Brady, of course, has no experience of Arsenal, she has plenty in the world of football, making hers an opinion worth listening to.

Wenger certainly seems to playing a dangerous game…
