Arsenal, Manchester City register interest in €35m Juventus man

Arsenal are apparently interested in signing Juventus’s Alex Sandro this summer.

  • Arsenal in the market for a left back
  • Sandro, 26, has 23 Serie A appearances this summer
  • He is under contract until 2020

The rumour, which has spread widely, seems to have stemmed from Transfermarketweb who also claim that the Turin giants are working hard to get him to agree a new deal.

My first instinct when Arsenal are linked with any player from Juventus is ‘never going to happen’.

While I don’t doubt Arsenal are looking for a left back in this window, Sandro is an outside option at best. He only arrived in Italy, from Porto, in 2015, and has shown zero signs of wanting to leave.

He plays regularly with a side that wins trophies, living in a city far more in tune with his South American heritage than anywhere in England.

It is highly unlikely that he’s on his way to any club that’s linked with him in the Premier League, including Manchester City, but certainly not Arsenal.
