Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Max Allegri recently over replacing Arsene Wenger.

  • Wenger’s Arsenal contract runs out this summer
  • Gunners are 6th in Premier League
  • Arsenal board said to be stalling over new Wenger contract
  • Allegri high on Arsenal wishlist

The Juventus manager, who thrashed Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League this week, is high up on the Gunners’ list of potential successors for Wenger. The link is nothing new but after Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace, the club have allegedly been in talks with the Italian boss.

Despite these claims, however, it should be noted that Allegri has always denied that he’s looking to leave Juventus and has consistently stated that he’s happy in Serie A. Likewise, Juve claim they’re happy with Allegri.

Of course, whether this is true or not is another matter.

Recent reports suggested that Wenger was going to stay at Arsenal and could sign a new two-year deal. But after the loss to Palace, the board are said to have stalled over his new contract.
