Given Granit Xhaka’s reputation for being a dirty player, it may surprise opposition fans to learn that Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Spurs’ Dele Alli have actually picked up more yellow cards this season.

Since signing for Arsenal in the summer, Xhaka has only picked up three yellow cards and two reds in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Dele Alli picked up four yellows.

However, Xhaka and Alli are small fry compared to the amount of yellow cards some Premier League stars are being given. Not that you would know if you listened to the media.

According to Squawka, Chelsea’s golden boy, N’Golo Kante, has committed 40 fouls in total this season, landing him with six yellow cards.

Elsewhere, Spurs’ Victor Wanyama has been booked eight times; that’s 2.03 fouls on average per game.

United’s mega-signing, Paul Pogba, commits 2.12 fouls every 90 minutes and has picked up seven yellows.

Emre Can seems to be the biggest offender. Although he’s ‘only’ committed 44 fouls and picked up five yellows, his average still works out at 2.51 fouls per match.

But sure, Xhaka’s the dirtiest player in the League…
