With six defeats in the last nine games, a host of players’ futures in doubt and the manager out of contract at the end of the season yet telling nobody what he’s planning to do, Tony Cottee thinks it looks like ‘utter chaos’ at Arsenal at the minute from the outside.

It looks that way from the inside too, Tony.

While most people are focusing on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, there are a number of other players out of contract next season including, but not limited to Santi Cazorla, Per Merteacker, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsene Wenger likes to operate in a sea of calm, and while he might not be feeling the crazy that seems to be going on at the minute, the fanbase certainly are.

“Looking from the outside, it’s utter chaos at Arsenal,” he told Sky Sports.

“You can’t say anything other than that. Their performances on the pitch haven’t been good enough, and the players are suffering from a lack of confidence.

“You should not have two of your best players [Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez] inside two years of your contract. It shouldn’t happen.

“If you don’t think they’re your top two players, then sell them.

“That’s what they should have done if they wanted to cash-in on the value of the player.

“It’s going to be very interesting at Arsenal. The Arsene Wenger situation needs sorting out, then Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

“What’s going to happen? It’s absolute madness at Arsenal.”

Hard to argue with that, really.
