The Guardian are today reporting that Alexis has been ‘emboldened’ to ask for a ‘non-negotiable’ pay-rise from Arsenal after receiving a massive offer from another club.
Leaving aside the small matter of tapping up, if this is Alexis’ position, then he will be leaving in the summer.
If David Hynter and Dominic Fifield are correct, then there is simply no way that Arsenal will meet his £250k-per-week demands.
The duo also claim that Arsenal have put their search for an Academy chief on hold as they wait for Wenger to decide on his future as he will get the final say should he stay.
The hierarchy at the club ‘remain steadfast’ in their support of him, believing that he is the man to pull the club out of the slump he’s gotten them into.
