Lukas Podolski thinks that Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich should consider Manchester City (or that they should consider him) after the player revealed his frustration at his back-up role with the Germans.
Speaking to Bild, Poldi said, “No one is happy when he does not play. Whether he is Lukas Podolski, Thomas Müller or Joshua Kimmich.” But he added that the situation was “…completely relaxed.
“Joshua is young, he is under contract with one of the best clubs in the world.
“Manchester City and Pep Guardiola would also be an option for Kimmich. They do not have the very best in his position. Joshua is a guy who plays in-between and plays really good football.”
Podolski, who is still only 31, shocked many people in January by revealing that he would move to Japan in the summer to join Vissel Kobe, a side that has never finished higher than seventh in the J League.
Perhaps he just *really* likes their beef?
Anyway, just a few days ago, Bayern’s chairman, Karl-Heinze Rummenigge, ruled out any sale.
“We have big plans for him in the future,” he told Sky Sport. “He will be, quite literally, our successor to Philipp Lahm.
“From next season, he’ll get more and more minutes. That’s Carlo Ancelotti’s plan, at least.”
