On 19 March 2011, Jens Lehmann was on the bench for Arsenal against West Brom despite not playing for the club since May 2007.
Lehmann re-signed for Arsenal in 2011 as emergency cover because Manuel Almunia was Arsenal’s only fit goalkeeper.
Days after agreeing to help out his former team, the German was on the bench against West Brom despite not being fully fit himself.
Lehmann wasn’t called into action for the match, which saw Arsenal overturn a 2-0 deficit to leave with a draw thanks to goals from Andrey Arshavin and Robin van Persie. However, he did play for the Arsenal reserves against Wigan on 29 March, which they lost 2-1, and in April went on to start against Blackpool when Almunia was injured in the warm-up.
This one appearance brought his total amount of League games for the Gunners to 149. He was also capped 61 times for Germany.
Lehmann retired for good after his second stint in north London.
