Jens Lehmann has become the latest former Arsenal player to hit out at fans for their disrespect of Arsenal Wenger.

The former goalkeeper has never been one to hide his opinion, a character that the current Arsenal set up could really use within the squad. This interview is no different.

For those who support the plane banner and are ready to get all angry, please note that Lehmann isn’t having a go at people protesting in general. He’s having a go at people spending money to hire a plane to fly it above a football match.

“That is so disrespectful,” Jens told the S*n. “The players should have tried to hit that plane with the ball, to defend their manager.

“A single guy comes and holds a banner up, that’s his opinion, fine. But hiring a plane? Come on, it’s too much. Even now the guys who are against Arsene they should recognise it has gone too far.

“The people that hold up their banners saying “Wenger Out” don’t hold up banners saying they want x, y, z to come in because this guy will guarantee success.

“None of them has a solution, someone who would guarantee them Champions League football and maybe win something.”

Jens is right and I say that as someone who thinks Wenger’s time has come. No matter how much I think changing the manager is necessary, I will never get behind anything that disrespects or abuses Arsene Wenger. Yes, it’s frustrating as hell to watch the obvious slide, but he deserves more than this. So much more.
