As if we didn’t already know what an integral part of the Arsenal team Santi Cazorla is, this stat proves it.
- Cazorla signed a new contract in December 2016
- Cazorla’s new contract is yet to be announced by Arsenal
- Cazorla, 32, has been at Arsenal since 2012
- Cazorla has played 129 league games for the Gunners and scored 25
Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for the rest of the season following surgeries on his ankle. The midfielder is now just concentrating on getting back for next term so we definitely won’t be seeing him play for Arsenal against this side of May.
Although we already knew this was probably the case, it’s a blow to find out one of your most important players is sidelined for a long stretch.
Not only do Arsenal miss out on the Spaniard’s ability to create space and dictate play but they also statistically lose more games without him in the centre of the park.
In fact, the Gunners’ win percentage with Santi is 65.5%. Their win percentage without him is just 38.9%. This is a huge difference and prime example of why we look so lost without him.
